If you have questions about a specific piece, just e-mail me and I'll be happy to answer. Remember, I have these knives in my possession right now and so I can double-check any detail you might be concerned about.

The Rules of the House

I hate "fine print", but there are a few things we should get straight

I have examined these items. I took the pictures. And I wrote the descriptions. I believe they're accurate.

I try to mark items "sold" immediately. If it's not marked, then there's a good chance it's available. All sales are first-come, first-served. When e-mailing for a specific item, you may want to indicate a second choice in case your first is sold.

Prices are in US Dollars and do not include shipping and handling which will be added at actual cost. Please include your zip code when you place your order so that I can tell you how much shipping will be.

When payment is by cashier's check, money order, or wire-transfer, I send the items immediately (within a few days). If you choose to send a personal check, I have to wait seven days for clearance (sometimes longer on international checks). I can't accept credit cards or Paypal, sorry.

All knives include a seven-day, no-fault return privilege. Just return the knife post-paid and undamaged within seven days and I'll refund your purchase price. You risk only the postage.

International buyers are welcome. It's perfectly legal to export a balisong out of the US. However, some nations have restrictions on importing them. You are responsible to comply with your nation's laws and are responsible for any customs-related losses. Don't worry. I've sold many balisongs internationally. E-mail me and we'll figure the whole thing -- payment, shipping, etc. -- out.

The buyer is responsible to comply with local laws regarding the legality of owning a balisong in his area. By making an offer to purchase a balisong from this page, the would-be buyer represents that he may lawfully buy and own a balisong.

Not sold in Stores. Offer void where prohibited by law. Call now. Operators are standing by.

Most of the items in this sale come from a single private collection. The collector is re-focusing his collecting activities. A number of the knives in this sale are sterile (unmarked). This was an option which would be ordered from Bali-Song Cutlery, Pacific Cutlery, and Benchmade. Some people, such as this collector, preferred that.

Item G4 is wonderful knife with heavy brass handles. It's fine example of Jody Samson's hollow-grind. This time, it's a rare Spanish Bowie. 9" overall open. This one is fully marked "Bali-Song (over) U.S.A" on the reverse and the Bali-Song logo on the front. It has some minor damage to the beam of the latch from hitting the tip of the blade. Fortunately, the latch is soft brass and the hard steel blade is undamaged. It has 100% original edge with no damage to the edge at all. With no damage to the blade and no other damage to the handles, I don't believe that the dimples on the latch beam are from manipulation. It comes with a nylon sheath that may not be original. Otherwise, this knife is in excellent condition.

Item G6 is one of the more interesting pieces in this collection. It's another blade ground by Jody Samson but it's flat-ground. Mr. Samson made this blade outside of B.S./P.C./B.M. It's a 3-incher with an interesting sort of bellied Weehawk with a great swedge. The "SAMSON (over) U.S.A." etch was added by the dealer and is not authentic, but doesn't detract. The handles are aluminum. There are a few minor dimples on the latch beam, but the latch is aluminum is also a soft metal so the steel blade is also undamaged. There is no other damage. Other wise, the knife is in
excellent to near-mint (if not for the etch) condition. It comes with a nylon Bali-Song sheath that is obviously not original.

$575.

Item G8 is a very interesting blade. I've never seen one like it. It's a sort of a flame/kris. It's unsharpened and sterile. It's about 10 1/2" long overall open, so it's a big knife. The handles are Aluminum. There are minor dimples on the latch beam, but the blade is undamaged. It comes in an unmarked sheath that may be original. This is probably a Pacific Cutlery Bankruptcy knife, one that would not have been sold if the company had not gone under. But, it was
sold and now you can buy this one-of-a-kind for

$900. SOLD!

And then there's Item G9. This is a prize. It's a beautiful knife over 11" long open. A Samson hollow-ground Weehawk that is just classic in its execution. This is the definition of Weehawk. It is sterile but guaranteed Benchmade. The stainless handles have wonderful snakewood inserts with great character and grain. The wood is perfect. There are a few dimples on the latch beam, but no other damage or signs of manipulation. In near-mint condition, it comes with its original nylon sheath. A bargain at

$950. SOLD!

Buyer's comments:

"Wow, what beautiful pieces. Really glad I went with the weehawk...Wow!! "

Item G10 is Samson hollow-ground Spanish Bowie. It's about 9" long overall open. It's marked "Bali-Song (over) U.S.A." on the back and has the Bali-Song tang stamp on the front. The handles are skeletonized aluminum. There are quite a number of dimples on the latch beam, but the latch is soft aluminum and the hard steel blade is undamaged. Item G11 is a thin sort of weehawk tanto with a small swedge. It's flat-ground and it's sterile. The handles are skeletonized stainless-steel. There are no dimples on the latch and no other damage. It comes in an unmarked nylon sheath. This MAY be a Pacific Cutlery Bankruptcy knife, one that would not have been sold if the company had not gone under. But, it was sold and now you can buy this big, heavy one-of-a-kind for

$800. SOLD!

Click the picture to see a larger version, 385K

Item G12 is a big, Spanish-style bowie sort of blade. It's 6 3/16" closed and 10 7/8" open. The handles are Aluminum. The blade was ground by Jody Samson, but the etch "SAMSON (over) U.S.A." on the blade was added by the
dealer later. It is not authentic, but it doesn't detract to much. There are four tiny dimples on the Aluminum latch beam, but the blade is undamaged and there is no other damage to report. It comes in an unmarked nylon sheath that may or may not be authentic. This is a big knife in excellent to near-mint (except for the etching) and the blade is really a great.

$900.

Item G13 is for a collector with high taste. A satin finished, Samson-ground kris with five undulations. It's 9" long overall open. The handles are brass with fossil ivory inserts. One insert has a minor crack, but it is still
intact. Interestingly, this knife is sterile (no tang stamps) but it guaranteed authentic Benchmade. This is
one of the last customs made (though not "final edition since those did not have Samson Kris blades). It comes in a nylon sheath that is original to the knife. The brass needs a dab of Flitz, but otherwise it's in near mint
condition with no sign of manipulation damage. The original customer waited over two years for this knife. Benchmade rarely did fossil ivory. It's beautiful material, but it's also brittle and not suitable for a knife that will be manipulated. But, then again, I don't suspect that anyone is going to manipulate this beauty.

$1200. SOLD!

Buyer's comments:

"Wow, what beautiful pieces. Wow!! The kris is very different. My first sterile pieces!"

It comes with an original nylon sheath.

$1500. SSSSS.... SOLD!

Item G21 is an original Bali-Song Cutlery custom Weehawk with a genuine Samson-ground blade and sharp swedge. The handles are stainless steel with unusual brown canvas micarta inserts. There are a few minor scratches here and there as you would expect on a knife of this age. There is no sign of manipulation damage. Notice the latch. The "hole" in the latch is a nylon insert. This was included on some early custom Bali-Songs to try and keep the latch from interfering with the blade. It's a sort of early attempt at a latch gate. The leather sheath is included and is original to the knife. The back of the blade is stamped, "Bali-Song (over) U.S.A." on the ricasso.

$825... but, only offered as a pair with item G22 for $1650 until June 15th.

Item G23 is a hand-made Pabu Cutlery custom balisong, serial number RB1. The blade is Devon Thomas Damascus steel, a simple, thin, sort of drop-point utility with a nice sharpening choile that lets you know this is a working blade. The front of the blade is stamped "Pabu (over) RB1" and the back is similarly stamped, "USA". The handles are stainless steel with durable but attractive brown canvas Micarta inserts each held with a small cap-head screw. The channels are open at the end to allow the longest possible blade. This necessitates the unusual L-shaped latch which locks the knife perfectly either open or closed. The blade has about four inches of working edge. The knife is 9 3/4 inches long overall when open and folds to about 5 3/8 inches. The pivot pins are adjustable. And a very functional pocket clip rounds out this very attractive but very usable knife. Of course, it's an outstanding collector's piece. But this knife is well-built of durable materials and would make an excellent carry knife for day-to-day use.

Item G24 is extraordinary. You owe it to yourself to click on the picture above and look at the large version. This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-made Pabu Cutlery custom balisong, serial number ST3-X. The blade is Devon Thomas Damascus, a sort of drop-point utility blade... but with a Pabu-signature partial 3-D serration. There is no other shop that does this sort of 3D blade work. But the ST3-X story does not stop with the blade. No. The handles are Devon Thomas, twist-pattern, tri-color Mokume-Gane. Mokume-Gane is made from special copper-, brass-, nickel alloys resulting in a mix of gold, red, and silver colors. The pattern and the color is NOT painted on. It's not just a surface finish. It is part of the metal. It goes all the way through. Any Mokume-Gane is difficult to make. There aren't many artists making it. And tri-color is even more difficult. Devon Thomas rarely makes Mokume-Gane -- only by special order and only for specific artists. Furthermore, he has only made a few pieces of tri-color. This is a rare and exceptional material. The inserts are huge, thick pieces of high-grade (I'd almost say "presentation grade", but I'm not qualified to grade MOP) mother-of-pearl with pinks and greens and blues. It's just beautiful MOP. Each piece is held by two small screws. This is a beautiful collector's piece made with exceptional skill and care from exceptional materials. Approximately 11 1/2" long overall open. Again, please click on the picture and enjoy the larger image.

Item G25 What can I say? When it rains, it pours! And right now, it's pouring balisongs for Sale G. Here's another great and highly-collectible Bali-Song. Yes, the best is born of history and tradition. And no company has a history and tradition of making great balisongs quite like Benchmade. This is a Benchmade 43DM with a wonderful Damascus steel blade, beautifully-milled stainless steel handles, and a fancy spring latch. They only made a hundred of these beauties and they're all sold out... everywhere, that is, except for the Shameless Commerce Division. But even SCD will be sold out when this one's taken. It is absolutely perfect, new, in the original presentation box.

Item G29 is a rarely-traded Benchmade Model 49-01. It's serial number 068 of 100. The inserts are beautiful Cocobolo Rosewood. The handles are stainless steel with a pleasant bushed finish. The blade is the now-legendary Benchmade American Kris with it's laser-sharp double-hollow-ground, zero-bevel edge. It also features a fancy spring latch. This is truly one of the greatest and most-desirable production balisongs -- indeed knives in general -- ever made. It comes in its original black presentation case which, quite frankly, has a few minor little dings. But, the knife inside, this highly-desirable and most-collectible Bali-Song, is in perfect mint condition. These are almost never seen on the market. Those who have them are holding them. And now, you can hold this one.

$725 SOLD!

Item G30 is a hand-made Pabu Cutlery custom balisong, serial number X-01. The Damascus steel blade is an awesome double-edged spearpoint with an excellent fuller (blood grove). It is fully hollow ground. The grind lines are masterful. The tang stamp reads "PABU (over) USA" on side and simply "X-01" on the other. The handles are stainless steel with double inserts of ironwood. Yes, that is ironwood. It's a species of ironwood that is considerably lighter-colored than most. Behind each ironwood insert there is a very thin spacer of red Micarta. The inserts are held in with screws. The channels are open at the end to allow the longest possible blade. This necessitates the unusual, Pabu-exclusive L-shaped latch which locks the knife perfectly either open or closed. The blade has about four inches of working edge on each side. The knife is approximately 9 1/4 inches long overall when open and folds to about 5 1/4 inches. The pivot pins are adjustable. And a very functional pocket clip rounds out this very attractive but very usable knife. Of course, it's an outstanding collector's piece. But this knife is well-built of durable materials and would make an excellent carry knife for day-to-day use.

$650 SOLD!

Item G31 is another Benchmade 49-01. It's number 85/100 and it's absolutely mint NIB. It looks pretty much like item G29 above, so I'm not gonna take another picture. Unlike G29, though, the box on this one is in perfect shape. To see two 49-01's offered for sale in such a short period is unusual. The 49-01 is second only to the 49-SPL as the most sought-after of the 49 series. This would be a jewel in any collection.

$750 Sold!

Buyer's comments:

"The 49-01 arrived safely on Thursday. I'm very pleased with the deal."

Also available (but not pictured): Item G32 Offered only as a set, a Benchmade 49-SPL, 49-02, 49-03, and 49-04. All are in absolutely-perfect, mint NIB condition and feature matching, low serial numbers. Here's a rare chance to put some real dazzle into your collection. The Benchmade 49-SPL (only 25 were made) was awarded most-collectible production knife of 2000. No high-end balisong collection will ever be complete without one... and yet there are only 25.

$4500. (Ten percent of the sale price ($450) will be donated to Far East Broadcasting to support operations in the Philippines) SOLD!

Item G33 is another Benchmade 43DM with a wonderful Damascus steel blade, beautifully-milled stainless steel handles, and a fancy spring latch. It's just like Item G25 above, in the original box and all. It's in perfect mint, NIB condition. It's just like G25, so I'm not going to take another picture. But it is serial number 053. I know I said these are rare. I didn't lie. There only are 100 of 'em.
