Step Six
The Ice Pick Drop and Catch Closing

Starting with the knife open, unlatched and in the classic Ice Pick grip.

grip the safe handle between your thumb and index finger and then uncurl your fingers and point them forward.

As you do this, the opposite handle and the blade will fall down.

Wrap your fingers around the safe handle.

Move your thumb up and out of the way.

With a little backward and upward nudge, the opposite handle and the blade will rotate up and meet the safe handle.

Wrap your thumb around both handles and you now have the knife closed again.

Notice, again, that the knife is still not latched at this point.

The Ice Pick Drop and Catch opening and closing are very much just the opposite of each other. In fact, in many balisong manipulation techniques the opening and closing are essentially the opposite of each other.
