The wavy shape of a kris blade is called "undulation."

Notice how the edge of this kris blade not only undulates in the Y-dimension, but in the Z-dimension as well. That's what makes this a 3D Kris.

This wonderful 3D kris was made by Pabu Knife of Portland, Oregon. The idea of a kris that undulates in two dimensions simultaneously was inspired by parts for rockets and missiles.

The handles are milled from solid stainless steel and have abalone shell inserts.

This is the first 3D Kris I've seen. It's a wonderful piece and I'm pleased to have it here... in The Balisong Collector's Vault. (Would you like one? Prices for 3D Kris balisongs start at about $1250. Drop me an e-mail and put you in touch.)
