SALE J

Notice, please, that there was no sale I since the letter I is easily confused with the number one.

To purchase a knife, just e-mail me. Be sure to indicate which knife or knives you want (you might want to include a second choice in case your first is already sold), and include your postal ZIP code so I can look up shipping costs.

If you have questions about a specific piece, just e-mail me and I'll be happy to answer. Remember, I have these knives in my possession right now and so I can double-check any detail you might be concerned about.

The Rules of the House

I hate "fine print", but there are a few things we should get straight

I have examined these items. I took the pictures. And I wrote the descriptions. I believe they're accurate.

I try to mark items "sold" immediately. If it's not marked, then there's a good chance it's available. All sales are first-come, first-served. When e-mailing for a specific item, you may want to indicate a second choice in case your first is sold.

Prices are in US Dollars and do not include shipping and handling which will be added at actual cost. Please include your zip code when you place your order so that I can tell you how much shipping will be.

When payment is by cashier's check, money order, or wire-transfer, I send the items immediately (within a few days). If you choose to send a personal check, I have to wait seven days for clearance (sometimes longer on international checks). I can't accept credit cards or Paypal, sorry.

All knives include a seven-day, no-fault return privilege. Just return the knife post-paid and undamaged within seven days and I'll refund your purchase price. You risk only the postage.

International buyers are welcome. It's perfectly legal to export a balisong out of the US. However, some nations have restrictions on importing them. You are responsible to comply with your nation's laws and are responsible for any customs-related losses. Don't worry. I've sold many balisongs internationally. E-mail me and we'll figure the whole thing -- payment, shipping, etc. -- out.

The buyer is responsible to comply with local laws regarding the legality of owning a balisong in his area. By making an offer to purchase a balisong from this page, the would-be buyer represents that he may lawfully buy and own a balisong.

Item J1 is a Gutmann Cutlery Original Balisong Sportsman's folding knife with sheath. Marked as Gutmann Item No. 11-524, it features classic Filipino, folded brass construction with brass bolsters and smooth bone inserts held by copper pins. The blade has a few freckles and some darkening on it, but that is the expected result of age. The blade (and the knife) had its original edge and appears unused. The blade etching is light, but in good condition. Overall, this knife is about as close to mint and you can expect. It comes with the original nylon sheath in the original wooden box. It is about 9 1/8 inches long open (approx. 23.2cm). These knives are very popular with collectors, a great piece of balisong history, and this one is a great specimen.

Item J2 is a second Gutmann Cutlery Original Balisong Sportsman's folding knife with sheath. Marked as Gutmann item No. 11-522, this one is slightly smaller than J1, about 7.5 inches long open (approx. 19cm). It also features classic Filipino folded-brass construction with brass bolsters, but has buffalo horn inserts held by copper pins. This is another great piece of history and quite collectible.

Item J3 is a much-sought-after Taylor Manila Folder. NIB, these knives have fetched upwards of $200. Unfortunately, this one is not nearly NIB. It's quite used. It's been sharpened. The false edge is sharpened. The brass has been neglected and needs a through polishing. There's a lot of scratches and such as you'd expect. Surprisingly, the ink on the blade is nearly 100%. It comes with a nice nylon pouch which is not original, but fits nicely. The blade on this knife is 440C. Once cleaned up, it'll make a great user because it still flips well and locks up nicely. These knives are very well-built and this one has a lot of life left in it.

Oh my! Item J4 is Gemini #6 by Darrel Ralph. The Gemini Series was a limited edition that marked Mr. Ralph's major entry into the Balisong market. You can read all about it by clicking here. Gemini #6 is a one-of-a-kind set of three Gemini knives. There is no other like it and never will be. Number Six is a veritable Gemini Salesman's Sample Kit. Three knives numbered 6A, 6B, and 6C.

Six A is an all-Damascus piece with Damascus handles and blade. The handles feature gold-lip mother-of-pearl inserts. The titanium latch is actually blue anodized.

Six B has blue-anodized titanium handles with gold-anodized nuggeted patches and extensive Darrel Ralph-exclusive filework. The bead-blasted blade has some extra filework too. The latch, which also has Darrel Ralph-exclusive filework is gold anodized titanium.

Six C is a fairly basic Gemini with skeletonized Titanium handles with a lightly-bead-blasted finish.

Needless to say, all three blades are hand-ground by Darrel Ralph and all three knives are hand-made and assembled by Mr. Ralph. All three are in absolutely mint condition and come to you in a Bill's Custom Case six pack.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own this totally unique set.

At this time, these three knives are being offered only as a set.

Item J5 is a Benchmade 49-01. These are highly sought-after and, since there's only 100 of them, they just don't come up very often. This is #59 of 100. It went straight from Benchmade into the safe of a serious collector via Good Guy Guns. And it has sat in that safe since. It is in absolutely mint NIB condition and comes in its fitted presentation case with all original paperwork, even the original Benchmade invoice and the original bubble wrap. The BM49-01 features the very excellent American Kris blade, stainless steel handles with Cocobolo inserts, and a spring-loaded latch. If you've been wanting to add a 49-01 to your collection, act now because they just don't come any nicer than this one.

Item H2 is Gemini #12 by Darrel Ralph. Launched in January of 2001, Project Gemini was the first balisong project by a major custom maker in years. Project Gemini launched the modern balisong renaissance. Only 25 Gemini works were made. This is your chance to own a significant piece of balisong history. You can read all about Project Gemini by clicking HERE. I'm pleased to say that #12 with its Desert Ironwood inserts is in virtually mint condition.
