Being Dennis Greenbaum's first sole-authorship balisong, this knife is marked GREENBAUM #1 on the latch beam.

The latch works perfectly firmly locking the knife either open or closed.

Obviously, Topo Gigio is a small knife, especially for a balisong. It's 3 13/16 inches long (approx. 9.7cm) overall when open and just 2 7/16 inches long (approx. 6.2 cm) when closed. Excluding the latch, the knife is 1 1/4 inch wide (approx. 3.2 cm). Ivory is a very light-weight material and with extensive use of Titanium, Topo Gigio tips the scale at just 2 oz. (approx. 56.7g).

Given the small size and the elaborate attention to detail, I would classify this as a gentleman's pocket knife.

Topo Gigio is the mouse FROM the future... or, in Dennis Greenbaum's case, Topo Gigio is the knife OF the future. He plans a series of Topo Gigio balisongs. While each will be a little different in its details, they will all be in the same form-factor. With number one secure here, in The Balisong Collector's Vault, Dennis is already working on number two.
