The handle inserts are Mother of Pearl.
The screws that hold the inserts into the handles are
made by Pabu from brass.  Even the special tool used
to install the screws was custom-made by Pabu.
In fact, everything about this knife was custom-made.

The red material behind the Mother of Pearl is Red Micarta.

Even the latch is special.




This latch allows the blade to run the full-length of the 
handles achieving the maximum-possible blade length.


    
    


The latch has a detent on it and there's actually a 
ball and spring built into the handle.  This mechanism
holds the latch out straight during manipulation.



The latch is also Devon Thomas Damascus Steel.
