Pabu provided two sets of inserts for the knife, one set in genuine (legal, old-stock) ivory, and one set in stag. Each insert piece is exactly fit for one of the pockets. Therefore, each insert is marked on the back to indicate which pocket it goes in. Each pocket is also labeled.
Professor Roland Phlip of the Institute for Advanced Balisong Studies recently gave an interesting lecture about modern use of Ivory. You can read the text by clicking on this icon.
The pivot pins can also be disassembled for cleaning or to reverse the blade.
The latch and pocket clip can also be removed.
