The white handle insert material is genuine ivory. The tiny screws holding the ivory to the inserts are made of 02 steel. The blue color of the screws comes from gun bluing, a chemical process. Notice how perfectly the blue color of the screws matches the blue of the liners. This is especially amazing when you recall that the liners are Titanium and colored with anodization, an electrical process. To get two different materials colored with different processes to match so closely demonstrates a mastery of both of these complicated processes.

The blue color also matches the genuine sapphire gem stones set in the inside tang pins of this wonderfully-carved blade.

The beautiful Damascus steel with its very bold pattern is by Bob Eggerling of Mertztown, PA.

The elegant ivory inserts are also artfully-carved. Notice how flowing the curves are and also the nearly-perfect symmetry from one handle to the other. This same symmetry continues from one side to the other.
