The handles are milled from the highest-grade solid Titanium. 
The Damascus steel for the contoured inserts was made 
by Mr. Ray Coon of Portland, Oregon.  (Mr. Coon also made
some of the Damascus steel used in Pabu's RB Special.)

The inserts aren't just inserted into the handles, they
are essentially carved into the handles.




The inserts were obviously exactly carved to fit the
carving inside the handle pockets.  There's no real
reason for an extra detail like this... except, of course,
to show off the maker's skill.

This picture also shows how the inserts are fastened
to the handles using screws from INSIDE the channel.
Pabu made a special tool just for this application.
Even the screws used on the Lakandula balisong are
special.  They are Swiss-made and engineered to hold
carbide-steel cutting tools in cutting machines.  
Yes, even the screws are fit for a king.
